Not to toot my own horn, but I predicted these things!

On April 8th, I posted an article about President Obama’s plan to take over the internet. Today, in the New York Times, it was reported that President Obama is appointing a Cybersecurity Coordinator. Told Ya so.

On May 18th, I posted an article about Obamanomics.  I raised the possibility that the administration had targeteted dealerships to be shut down in areas that were not likely to be Obama/Democrat strongholds.  On May 27th, WorldNetDaily exposed how this turned out to be true.  Told Ya So.

So make sure you keep coming back here.  I’m sure if I combed through all of the articles here I’d find more examples of predictions coming true.  Check out “The Openly Conservative Network” in the left navigation column and keep updated on the gems that appear here via your favorite social network!

Ok, so maybe I WILL toot my own horn!

Double Standards

Amazing.  Press Secretary Robert Gibbs saw fit yesterday to warn, perhaps threaten, the opponents of President Obama’s nominee for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.  In various articles around the net he is quoted as saying ”be exceedingly careful” in just how they criticize Judge Sotomayor.

Really.

And just who should be careful?  Conservatives?  Men?  White people?

I find it exceedingly hypocritical that liberals are going so far out of the way to warn Republicans to tread lightly.  As I remember it, Democrats did not tread lightly when Alberto Gonzalez was nominated to be Attorney General.  They did not worry about the Hispanic vote.  Nor were they very concerned when in 2003 they were communicating among themselves about Miguel Estrada.  At that time, they thought that Miguel Estrada was being groomed to be a Supreme Court nominee.  They opposed him not because of his qualifications, but BECAUSE HE IS HISPANIC.

But, we all know that Democrats know how to take a voting bloc for granted.  In fact, if anyone DARES to disagree with their socialist, classist, racist view of America, he or she are skewered publicly.  Lest we forget: Colin Powell was the first African American Secretary Of State.  Condoleezza Rice was the first female African American Secretary Of State.  Alberto Gonzalez was the first Hispanic Attorney General.  Were liberals careful about what they said about these people? No.  Let’s look a little further back in history.  Remember Clarance Thomas’ confirmation hearings?  Liberals didn’t care much about the black vote, then.

I personally am tired of liberals taking the votes of minorities for granted.  So long as a minority holds true to the idiotic ideals of liberals, they are gold.  A guy like me, a Hispanic conservative is crap to liberals.  If I were to run for public office, you’d better believe that liberals would waste no time throwing me to the wolves.  I only wish others could see the same things I do.

She’s Latina - So What?

Today, President Obama nominated Sonia Sotomayor for Supreme Court Justice.  Once again, liberals show their true color by making a huge issue about the fact that she’s a latina.  I, as a hispanic conservative, say “So what?”

In my research for this article, I have found some of her decisions that were in line with some of my beliefs.  She did rule against a pro-baby-murder organization that sued to get the “Mexico City Policy” overturned, so that was good. She ruled in favor of pro-life protesters when the police were improperly trained and were abusive with the protesters… that’s good.

Then there’s the racism.  She is quoted as having said: “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”  What?  Hell, I’m hispanic, and I’m offended!  Now, imagine for a moment if you were to take this statement, make it about a white woman and a black man, and it came out of the mouth of Ann Coulter.  She’d be skinned alive.

Unfortunately, this is only a taste of things to come from this administration, and with so few republicans left in the senate, there is precious little that can be done.  You can bet that her appointment will be fast tracked.  Get used to “Justice Sonia Sotomayor.”

The Will Of The People

Am I the only one who has noticed?  Whenever someone has anything critical to say about President Obama and/or the policies he has put in place, they always come back with ‘It’s the will of the people. Elections have consequences.  It’s what the people voted for.’

Then, today, when the California Supreme Court upholds an amendment to the California constitution; an amendment that was voted on by, and reflects the will of, the people of the State of California, the liberals are up in arms!

My personal opinion is that the state has no business being involved in marriages.  I think that marriage is a religeous rite that need not be sanctioned by any government entity.

As it is, the state does get involved in marriages and as it is required to provide equal rights under the constitution, I do believe that gays should be allowed to marry under the law.  This is provided, however, that they do not turn around and start filing suit against churches which, as a matter of doctrine, do not believe in such unions.

So, what’s my point?  My point is that as per usual, liberals are hypocrites.  The same argument that they use against you is the same argument they ignore when the point is not in their favor.

Dear Leader -VS- Dear Leader

So, North Korea’s Dear Leader, Kim Jong Il has decided that he’s gong to take on America’s Dear Leader, Barack Obama.

On Saturday, North Korea detonated a nuclear bomb underground.  This along with North Korea’s test firing rockets has me and others very concerned.

President Obama, along with the UN, have condemed these actions in the strongest way possible.  I’m sure that Kim Jong Il has soiled his pants over it.

As I see it, North Korea is like an unruly child.  I know, you libs out there won’t like what I have to say but every so often, an unruly child needs a good spanking.  I am not advocating child abuse.  I am not advocating leaving lasting wounds or breaking bones or anything extreme like that.  Every once in a while, though, a child needs to be put in his or her place. A scolding simply won’t do.  This is the situation we face now with North Korea.  The question is: Does Dear Leader Obama and the rest of the world have the balls to put Dear Leader Il and North Korea in their place?

Good Going, Mancow!

Nationally syndicated morning radio host, Mancow, has a local show that he does for Chicago on WLS-AM. Over the past week or so the station has been running promotions that either he or his co-host, Pat Cassidy, would be getting waterboarded on Friday, May 22nd as a publicity stunt.

So, sure enough on May 22nd, he submits himself to being waterboarded… well, here’s what happened:

Now these damned liberals have been going all day singing their chorus about how Mancow got waterboarded and called it torture.

Good job, moron.  If you’re not going to be part of the solution, don’t be part of the problem.

“Happy” Memorial Day?

Every year around this time I hear the same greeting: Happy Memorial Day.  I have always found this to be a contradiction in terms.

You see, I don’t think that Memorial Day is a day to be celebrated, per se.  Now, now, don’t go getting mad at me, let me explain.

To me, Memorial Day is more of a day of reflection and gratitude.  It is a day to remember those who have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms that we enjoy, rather, take for granted every single day.

So yes, enjoy your day off, have a burger and some beer. Enjoy your time with friends and family.  But, take a reflective moment to remember those who gave their lives on the field of battle so that you could be free to do those things.

Communicate Much?

Ok, so I was digging around Google News looking for some stories to blog about. As I was scrolling the page, I noted one headline that said “Obama Says US Economy Showing Return to Normalcy.” ”Ok,” I thought, “well, of course he’s going to try to tell us that everything he’s doing to destroy private industry is helping the economy.”  Then I see this gem: “Fed’s economic forecast worsens.”

So, I have to wonder: Which is it?  Clearly the Elites in Washington aren’t talking to each other.  Is the economy getting better or is it getting worse?

If you ask me, I tend to believe the fed more than I believe Dear Leader, and here’s why:  Every bit of President Obama’s plans depend on the economy getting worse.  You see, with the administration printing more and more money, coupled with their war on prosperity, millions upon millions MORE people will be unemployed.  With all of these people unemployed, more and more will be depending on the Government for food, healthcare (if the libs get their way, anyway), money, housing, transportation and everything else.   We all know what happens to people who depend on the Obama administration for handouts, right?  Just ask Rick Wagoner.

A totalitarian government never comes out and tells you what their plans truly are.  They never tell you that they intend to take over every aspect of your life.  Usually, they take small steps.  They take away freedoms little by little, so as not to cause an uprising.  They do these things under the guise of helping underpriviledged people.  They do these things under the guise of fairness.

President Obama and his minions have made little effort to take this slowly.  They have already taken over many industries by economic force.  The auto, banking, mortgage and credit industries are only the beginning.  Don’t think for a moment that they don’t have their sights set on oil, coal and other energy industries.  Don’t forget the left-wing extremists calling for single-payer healthcare.

Ladies and gentlemen, this might be our shot.  Between The White House, and the Fed, and Nancy Pelosi, they can’t get their story straight.  Hopefully their true intentions will be exposed, and the American people will wake up in time for 2010.  Our time for uprising may be here yet.

Obama’s Faith-Based Advisor Calls For Challenge To ‘Heteronormative’ Fatherhood

(CNSNews.com) - A controversial member of President Barack Obama’s faith-based council said that part of the administration’s role in promoting responsible fatherhood should include moving beyond America’s “heteronormative view of fatherhood.”

Why does this not surprise me?  As we approach Father’s Day in a few weeks, I cannot help but notice how fathers have been marginalized in American society.

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing but love and respect for single moms, and by no means is this meant to slight them, but, there is something to be said for having dad around.

I remember being young, and the most horrifying thing my mom could say to me was “wait until your father finds out.”

I have read many studies that suggest that children who grow up without a father figure tend to do worse in school, be more prone to engaging in criminal activity and teen pregnancy.

For the President to have a moron on his staff that would suggest something like this is appaling, but not surprising.  I, for one, intend to be a dad to my children, and I think it’s time that men reclaim their rightful place as ‘dad.’

Obamanomics: The Final Blow For GM and Chrysler?

Now, I’m no business tycoon, so maybe I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about.

The way I always understood, when you have a product to sell, you advertise and make it available to as wide a market as possible.  When times get tough, you do these things more aggressively, to maximize awareness and availability.

The Obama Administration, and yes, I squarely point the finger at them, since they are now running Detroit, have seen fit to not only slash the advertising budget, but to kill the contracts of nearly 1900 dealerships.

Again, I don’t profess to be as smart as the Washington elites, but this makes absolutely no sense to me.  At an average of 50 employees per dealership, this move threatens to eliminate about 95,000 jobs.  Many of these dealerships that are being closed are located in small towns across America.  Most of these small town dealerships are the economic and philanthropic engines of these towns.

The left will not admit that this whole car thing is a huge defeat for the Obama administration.  They rammed through the bailout for them, sank billions of our dollars into them, only for Chrysler to go bankrupt anyway, and for GM to presumably follow suit.

I just had an interesting thought:  Many of these small town folk didn’t vote for our Dear Leader.  Hmmmm.  I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.
