So, after the fervent tongue lashings dealt by the left for the silly little cartoon allegedly depicting President Obama as the chimpanzee that had been shot, I was shocked to hear some of the comments made on liberal talk radio about Louisiana Governor Piyush “Bobby” Jindal this week. Okay, not really.
Governor Jindal gave a nationally televised speech in response to President Obama’s speech the other night. This was the Louisiana Governor’s first nationally televised speech.
Despite their best efforts, it seems that liberals have once again let their true colors shine through. While lampooning his speech, they reverted to making several racially insensitive remarks about his ethnicity. I heard comments about making phone calls to tech support and customer service, which many companies now forward to India. I heard comments about food with lots of curry in it. I heard comments about convenience stores. I even heard one of the commentators call him ‘Apu,’ the stereotypical Indian character on the animated television series ‘The Simpsons.’
So, here we go again with the double standard. No one can make any kind of racial jokes. No one can make fun of someone else because of their skin color. No one can make fun of someone because of their sexual orientation. No one can say anything that can be even remotely construed as offensive. That is, of course, unless the target of said satire happens to be a conservative republican. Then that’s alright.
The left spends an awful lot of time lecturing us on racial sensitivity. Any time we say anything remotely or even inadvertently offensive they accuse us of ‘hate speech.’ As I stated last week in my posting ‘President Chimpy?’, hate is hate, no matter who it is directed toward. Wouldn’t it be nice if, in keeping with all of their rhetoric, liberals would at least have the decency to hold themselves to the same standard they expect the rest of us to live by? Of course, the same could be said about liberals on a lot of subjects. Not just race relations, but conservation, economics and all that other fun stuff? Oh, that’s right. ‘Leaders’ on the left and in left wing media are better than the rest of us. The rules they expect the rest of us to live by don’t apply to them.

Oh, the left wing has their collective panties in a knot this week over this one. This comic strip depicts the scene which occurred this week where police officers were forced to shoot a chimpanzee that went, well, apes#!t.
The rub is that one of the police officers is captioned as saying ‘They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.’ As much as I would like to be able to say that this was more about congress than it was about the first black President, I cannot. As a conservative who looks forward to the day when we can all live truly color blind; with true equality and respect instead of quotas and tiered testing, I find this comic disturbing and disgusting. It is clear in my eyes as well as to anyone with any sense that the chimpanzee is meant to represent President Barack Obama.Â
Regardless weather or not I agree with his politics or policies, I do not wish the man harm. The images depicted here are completely and utterly unacceptable. At no point should anyone find it within their frame of mind that depicting the shooting of the President of the United States is parody. This really is not funny.
However, it seems that the left is living by a double standard this week… what else is new? They seem to have forgotten the laughs they got at our former President’s expense. They have forgotten the e-mails and websites dedicated to comparing President Bush to a chimpanzee. The liberal commentators have forgotten how they referred to The President as ‘President Chimpy’ They have forgotten, in less than a month, the level of uncensored hatred that they freely expressed to anyone who could be bothered to listen, and many who couldn’t. They have forgotten the many on their side who freely and openly called for Mr. Bush’s ASSASSINATION. But that was okay, because it was them, and their target was a white man. Their target was a conservative.
In my eyes, hatred is hatred, without consideration as to the color of the target’s skin or political affiliation. In a truly colorblind society, we don’t do this kind of thing even if the man were green with purple polka-dots.
So before those of you on the left go marching behind race baiters like Al Sharpton, remember all the bile and hatred you were spewing just 1 month ago.
Am I excusing what this comic did? Absolutely not. What I am doing is reminding those of you who are screaming the loudest about this that you are likely guilty of the same, if not worse.

BUFFALO, NY - Muzzammil Hassan, founder of Bridges Television Network, was arrested on Thursday
on suspicion of beheading his wife. His wife, Aasiya Hassan, had filed for divorce on February 6th, according to CNN. Police had been called to the couple’s home several times for domestic violence, and this was apparently the motivation for her filing for the divorce.
It seems so interesting to me that none of the major news outlets are giving this story the coverage it deserves. In fact, in Thursday’s Chicago Sun-Times, it was but a blip on PAGE 32. While searching the story on Google was easy enough, it seems to me that one woudn’t search it if they didn’t already know the story.Â
Imagine, for a moment, if these people hadn’t been muslim. Imagine, if the couple were a white, upper middle class family. This story would be splashed all over the headlines, receiving wall-to-wall coverage on all of the networks.
Here are the things I want to know: First: what are the networks afraid of? Worldwide riots in the streets? Second: where is the outrage from ‘moderate’ muslims? Shouldn’t someone be speaking out for these good people who don’t share in the extremest views we so often see in the media?
Â
I’m just asking.

Ah, yes, can you smell it? Smells like pork! Lots of it! Our dear friends in Washington have seen fit to spend more than 3/4 TRILLION of yours and my money. Kudos to the House Republicans for standing their ground on their principals. Ditto for all but 3 Senate Republicans.
I am, however, disappointed to see a huge missed opportunity. The way I see it, biparisanship requires compromise, a little give-and-take. If they so desperately wanted ‘bipartisanship,’ then I’m sure that they would have been more than happy to give some ground on domestic oil exploration and drilling.
Domestic oil would have had a place in this so-called stimulus bill. Domestic oil drilling would have created lots of American (and most likely union) jobs. From the exploration, to the people putting up the rigs to the people putting up piplelines, to the truck drivers and train engineers to transport the stuff once it’s out of the ground. Oh, and let’s not forget the people required to run the refineries. That’s a bunch of jobs right there that domestic oil drilling would have brought about.
Let’s not forget, also that domestic oil exploration and drilling, even if the oil is not readily available, would discourage our friends at OPEC from jacking up the prices again like they did last summer. Cheaper oil leads to cheaper everything because the transporation costs would be that much lower. The cost for the plastic packaging would be lower as would the cost for the energy to make the stuff. Also, cheaper oil leads to cheaper gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. This would encourage travel. A travelling public buys cars to travel in, stays at hotels and eats at restaurants. Just think of how many jobs THAT would create or save.
But alas, the Republicans didn’t think to try and throw that in, and I will bet my bottom dollar that there is no way that Democrats would have even entertained the thought. Because for as much as those on the left tell you that they are about looking out for you and me, you know, the little people, this would have gone against their ideology and it goes against their goal of having us all in 25 mile per hour golf carts.

I find it amazing, how after the beating the corporate CEO’s have been taking over private jets, that Our Dear Leader has now seen fit to jet around the country in a Boeing 747, at times, it seems, for no reason at all.
Last week, Barack Obama brought himself and his family to Chicago for Valentine’s weekend. Then on Monday, he flies back to Washington, DC only to fly back to Denver today to sign away yours and my grandkids’ life’s work. Isn’t this the same man who said that we can’t drive our SUV’s and keep our thermostats at 72 degrees and all that nonsense?
What a hypocrite! Just how much jet fuel does a bird that size burn, anyway? Can you imagine the carbon footprint? What about global warming, Mr. President? What about dwindling resources, Mr. President? You talk about the need for everyone to sacrifice, I think you should be setting an example, and not spending EVEN MORE of our money trying to out-rockstar our last rockstar President Clinton.

I took ill a couple of weeks ago. I had a nasty case of the flu, so I had been out of commission, even to log on to the internet and rant, simply because I have not been keeping up. But I’m back and feeling quite healthy!
