Openly Conservative Weekly is a weekly video magazine that will cover news from a conservative point of view.  I will also teach tutorials on The Constitution and Economics, and lampoon liberals with my razor sharp wit.

“It’s What The People Voted For”

The other day, I was listening to the radio and I had the silly liberal talk station on.  I’m not even sure which of the morons it was, but a discussion began about how much President Obama’s “stimulus package” resembles socialism.

The person on the air said “So what if it’s socialism? It’s what the people voted for.”

Really?

Consider this:

• “The People” of California voted for Propositon 8.  Should the opponents of it stop protesting, then?
• Every poll during the summer showed that “The People” wanted more domestic drilling for oil.  Did the liberals listen?
• “The People” did not want to end segregation.  Perhaps we should have kept that popular practice going.
• “The People” did not want to enter into World War II.  Would you like some sushi with your wienerschnitzel?
• “The People” did not want to grant voting rights to women.  No further comment.
• “The People” did not want to to abolish slavery.
• “The People” did not want to revolt against England.
• “The People” voted to crucify a man who commited no crime.

It seems to me that throughout history, “The People” have made some terrible mistakes.  Just because something is popular doesn’t make it right.

Merrill Lynch Office Renovation -VS- Obama’s New Oval Office

So, President Obama went out of his way the other day to mention the office renovation over at Merrill Lynch as it was supposed to relate to the use of money from the TARP fund.  He was wrong.

As it turns out, the office renovation came out of corporate funds before TARP was even the communist twist W left us with.  Perhaps, President Obama, you might consider engaging your brain before you open your mouth.

In a very interesting twist, Michael Smith, the decorator who did the Merrill Lynch office, is doing the Oval Office at the White House. 

I find it endlessly amusing how much whining and crying is being made of $1.2 million that didn’t come out of the tax payers’ pockets, but no one is saying anything about the muliple tens of millions spent on the inauguration.  Those mutiple tens of millions that did come out of yours and my pockets.   But that’s okay, it’s being spent on The Messiah.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today we reflect on the life and accomplishments of Martin Luther King, Jr.  I have to say that as a man of Hispanic ancestry my life is better, in part, because of him. 

I never lived in a world where I had to use seperate rest rooms or water fountains.  I never lived in a world where I may have had to ride in the back of the bus.  I never lived in a world where certain schools, places or things were off limits simply because I am not white.  That era was before my time.  To that I owe to the civil rights movement during his time.

I think that Dr. King would have been seen today as a left-of-center moderate.  While he rejected traditional capitalism, he also rejected communism because communism rejects any and all religion.  This is something that modern liberals are perfectly comfortable with.

Dr. King’s bravery in a time when such bravery could, and ultimately did, get you killed has made life better for us.  His dream, however, has not yet been fulfilled.

Tomorrow Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America.  He will be sworn in as the first man who is not white to hold this position.  This does not, however fulfill Dr. King’s dream.  Dr. King wanted everyone to be equal.  He wanted everyone to co-exist peacefuly without prejudice.  I believe that he wanted an America that is truly color blind.

Liberals would go out of business if that were to happen.  It is liberals that segregate everybody in to groups: blacks, whites, women, gays, straights, latinos, etc. the list goes on and on.  Liberals go out of their way to create new victim groups every day.  They tell people what they want to hear instead of telling them the truth.  It works, and it works well.  Liberals have convinced people that the Government, under the direction of Barack Obama, can provide everything for them.  Jobs, healthcare, money you name it, Uncle Sam will take care of you from cradle to grave.  This is not what Dr. King wanted.  He wanted equality for everyone, so that everyone would have the opportunity to make of their own lives the best that it could be.  We, as a country are not there yet.  It is liberals who have created slum inner city schools, and instead of fixing them, they just throw more money at them.  It was liberals who created the projects, so that minorities could fester and children could grow up in fear; growing up to repeat the cycle.  It was liberals who created entitlement programs, essentially absolving men of thier responibility to care for, provide and raise their children.  It has been liberals who fight to make admission tests for schools and jobs easier for minorities, in essense telling us that anyone who isn’t white isn’t smart enough to pass them.

I refuse to believe it.

Liberals see color first.

I, and I know other conservatives, see individuals first.

Dr. King said:

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

With liberals acting the way they to toward blacks, hispanics, women, etc., I’m left to wonder, once again, “Who are the real racists?”

High School: 1958 vs. 2008

I got this in an email from one of my liberal friends… well at least he thinks he’s a liberal.  He voted for Barack Obama only because he’s a Teamster and that was what Teamsters did.  I think he’s a conservative and doesn’t know it.  I digress.

This is true and sad in so many ways!  

Scenario 1:

Jack goes quail hunting before school and then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck’s gun rack.


1958 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack’s shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.

2008 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.  


Scenario 2:

Johnny and Mark get into a fist fight after school.


1958 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.


2008 - Poli ce called and SWAT team arrives — they arrest both Johnny and Mark. They are both charged them with assault and both expelled even though Johnny started it.
 

Scenario 3:
 
Jeffrey will not be still in class, he disrupts other students.


1958 - Jeffrey sent to the Principal’s office and given a good paddling by the Principal. He then returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.


2008 - Jeffrey is given huge doses of Ritalin. He beco mes a zombie. He is then tested for ADD. The school gets extra money from the state because Jeffrey has a disability.  
 
Scenario 4:

Billy breaks a window in his neighbor’s car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.

1958 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college and becomes a successful businessman.


2008 - Billy’s dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy is removed to foster care a nd joins a gang. The state psychologist is told by Billy’s sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison. B illy’s mom has an affair with the psychologist.  
 

Scenario 5:

Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.


1958 - Mark shares his aspirin with the Principal out on the smoking dock.


2008 - The police are called and Mark is expelled from school for drug violations. His car is then searched for drugs and weapon s.  

Scenario 6:

Pedro fails high school English.


1958 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.


2008 - Pedro’s cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against the state school system and Pedro’s English teacher.  English is then banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given his diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.  

Scenario 7:

Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the Fourth of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle and blows up a red ant bed.


1958 - Ants die.


2008- ATF, Homeland Security and the FBI are all called. Johnny is charged with domestic terrorism. The FBI investigates his parents — and all siblings are removed from their home and all computers are confiscated. Johnny’s dad is placed on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.   </ B>

Scenario 8:

Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary.  Mary hugs him to comfort him.


1958 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.


2008 - Mary is accused of being a predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State Prison.  Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy .

Think about it!!

I thought about it. Seems to me that liberals are to blame for each and every one of these things that have gone wrong with our country.

Now, were there some things that were messed up back then? Of course. Latinos, blacks and pretty much anyone who wasn’t white were treated like crap.  There have been many technological advancements since then that have made life much easier.  The point is, however, that we have become very, very soft, and each one of those points that were made were ’causes’ that were taken up by liberals.

Thom Hartmann Speaks The Truth!

So, during my daily dose of self-inflicted indignation, I listened to liberal author and radio talk-show host Thom Hartmann, who made a comment that I actually agree with.

Then he said it.

Desperate people vote for the crazies.

Now, that’s not a direct quote, and I am paraphrasing, but the essence of what he said is there.  Then it got me to thinking… and anyone who knows me and just how dangerous that can be.  But I know good and evil and keep my brilliance in check.  I only use my powers for good.  But I digress.

Anyway, as I got to thinking, I realized just how much the Criminal Liberal News Media were trumping up just how bad the economy was right before the election.  Gnashing of teeth and screams of agony in the streets.  People jumping off bridges and stock market crashes. People standing in soup lines and waiting hours for a roll or toilet paper.  Ohhhhh, the sky is falling!  At least, so they told us.

 Then the polls started to swing, and the Criminals in The Media saw that their tactic was working, so they kept harping and pounding at it.  The people grew desperate.  Couple that with a mediocre campaign from McCain, the half-liberal, and the stage was set.

 So, Thom Hartmann was right.  Desperate people voted for the crazies.  Now the crazies have taken over Congress, and will be taking over the White House in a few days.

Harry Reid - Racist?

Harry Reid (D-NV) has, predictably, stonewalled Roland Burris from taking his seat at the Senate.  So, this, after X-ing out all of the other black contenders leaves one to wonder: Is Senator Reid Racist?

Then again, liberals as a group are, in my opinion, racist.  It is liberals who are always trying to make tests for black and hispanic applicants, be it for school or jobs, easier.  It is liberals who see skin color before individuality, and it is liberals who always talk down to those who aren’t white.  It really makes me wonder, ‘Who are the real racists?”

I again repeat my appeal to the United States Senate: Seat Roland Burris.  As a hard-core right wing whacko, I recognize the law.  Governor Blagojevich retains, until his impeachment, the authority to appoint someone to fill a vacant Senate seat.  He has done so.  Save yourselves the embarassment of a court fight.  I am actually trying to help you slugs.

I know, I know… some of you are reading this and thinking: Democrats can’t be racist. It’s impossible.  I ask, once again, knowing what we know, who are the real racists?

Democrats: You Made Your Bed, Now Lay In It!

Roland Burris

Well, both Illinois Democrats as well as members of the National Democrat Party were all on board with holding a special election when news broke about Rod Blagojeich’s arrest.  They all said that the people of Illinois should choose Barack Obama’s replacement in the Senate. “Give it to the people,” they said. 

Then they got to thinking.

The thought occurred to them that maybe, just maybe, if they gave the people a chance they could possibly *gasp* vote for a republican!  They couldn’t allow that to happen!

So, what do they do?  Instead of running a law through the Illinois Legislature, which we all know Blajojevich wouldn’t sign anyway, giving the right to select a new Senator back to the people, they chicken out. 

So, now, with Governor Blagojevich’s right, and duty to select a new Senator to fill Barack Obama’s vacant seat (and let’s face it, it’s been vacant for the last to years with The Messiah running for President) intact… he did just that.  He selected Roland Burris to be the next Junior Senator from Illinois.

Now, I, as many others, have questioned Mr. Burris’ judgment in accepting such an appointment.  However, I believe that the appointment is legitimate.

Governor Blagojevich, scumbag as he may be in my opinion, has been convicted of nothing.  None of his powers as Governor have been stripped.  There is absolutely nothing barring him from making such an appointment.

As such, even though I think these people are absolute slugs, I think that this appointment is legitimate.  Illinois Democrats had the chance to chance to change the rules, or at least give the appearance that they were trying to do so.  They blew it.  Roland Burris should be sworn in and seated.

Say What?

So, I heard this while listening to the radio this morning, and I just had to verify it:

A majority of Democrats (55%) say Israel should have tried to find a diplomatic solution first, a view shared by just 27% of Republicans.

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, Democrats think that Israel should have sat down and talked with people who are lobbing rockets in their direction.

I wonder how many of these people would put up with someone coming in and damaging their property, or wounding and killing their families, before standing up and defending such.  I wonder how many of these people would let themselves be sucker-punched without punching back.  I wonder how many of these people are men who would try to negotiate with a man who is in the act of raping his wife, his mother, his sister.

These idiotic liberals make me sick.  These people have taken over Europe, and they will be taking over here very soon.  That’s right, boys and girls, the days of terrorists attacking America with impunity will be back January 20th.

You know what?  Nevermind.  These same people who claim to be so against any kind of violence are the same people who think it’s perfectly okay to grind an unborn (and even partially born, and in the case of our incoming Dear Leader Barack Obama, wholly born) baby to a fine pulp.
