Non Stop Fun In Post Racial America (Or, The Biggest Story NOT Being Reported By The MSM)

So in 2008, when President Obama was elected to be President of the United States of America, we were told that we had entered the post-racial era in America.

While I was disappointed that a Democrat had won office, I took solace that at least, finally, an african american man had been elected to the highest office in this country.  Maybe, finally, people would stop feeling like victims.

Maybe not.

Since Mr. Obama’s inauguration in January of 2009, it seems that the left has seen fit to lob the racism grenade an anyone who so much as slightly disagrees with the current administration.  You cannot be against Health Care Deform, raising taxes, apologizing to the world for simply being American, or any of a slew of leftist policies pushed forward by this regime without being labeled a racist.

The label, in fact, is losing its teeth.

Now, let me make this point before I go on: I hate racism.  I hate racism in all its colors and varieties.  I hate it when hispanics think they are better than whites or blacks. I hate it when whites think they are better than blacks or hispanics. I hate it when blacks think they are better than whites or hispanics. I hate the KKK, the New Black Panthers, La Raza or any organization that promotes racial superiority over another.

So, again, while I was upset, disappointed and even a bit angry that Obama had won the Presidency, I had hoped that at least, maybe, we could get past a good bit of the racial nonsense that sometimes goes on.

Now, since I do believe in all things being equal, I did not cut the new President any slack, and I slammed him from day one for his leftist policies.  Some other political commentators chose to take the high road, and cut him even more slack than most, simply because they didn’t want to be the first to criticize the first black President.  However, it wasn’t long before the labels started being applied.  Fine, I guess it should have been expected.

Fast forward to August 10, 2010.  One would think that racially motivated attacks would be a thing of the past.  One would think that with all the hate crime legislation having been passed, people of different races could get along.

Imagine my disappointment tonight when I hear on the radio the biggest story that hasn’t been reported.  Not one mention on MSNBC, or CBS News, or ABC News, hell even FOX News hasn’t touched it.

The place is Des Moines, IA… yes, that progressive state with the legalized gay marriage.

On August 10, in Des Moines, IA, at the Iowa State Fair, a number of people were assaulted in what was clearly a racially motivated attack by several teenagers.  These teenagers were making comments during the fair that defined their intention to cause physical harm to persons of another race.  By the time it was over, approximately 30 - 40 of these teenagers were going around beating on persons, simply because of their race.

I find these crimes to be despicable. What is more offensive is the way that this has been handled, or should I say buried by the main stream media.  You see, if you are a liberal, or if you have been conditioned by the MSM that these things always go a certain way, you’re probably wondering why this hasn’t been at the top of the news cycle at the big news networks.  You’re probably wondering why the politicians haven’t come out of the woodwork to stand with the victims and condemn these racially motivated hate crimes.  You’re probably wondering why Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton haven’t taken the photo op and condemned these attacks.  You’re probably wondering why you likely haven’t heard or read about this until now.

The answer:  Because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

You see, there will be no Al or Jesse.  The race baiting leftist media will not be covering this story.  Our President will not call the perpetrators of these crimes “stupid.”   Why?  Because the attackers were black, and their victims were white.  How can I determine that these were racially motivated hate crimes? Well, the fact that they were chanting “It’s beat whitey night” is a subtle hint.

The fact is that there will not be a post racial America until everyone starts to respect one another, and starts acting like civilized human beings.  Until the leftists see that disagreeing with them does not make one a member of the KKK, there will not be a post racial America.  Until the leftist mainstream media starts treating stories with equal weight, instead of reporting those that fit their narrative and burying others, there will not be a post racial America.

Don’t believe me?  I pose to you this question: What would the news coverage be like if it were a gang of white teens singling out and assaulting black people?

I Called It… Well, Sort Of

A couple of months ago, I came up with a clever (if I say so myself) re-write of the Pledge of Allegiance called, no less, The Liberal Pledge of Allegiance.

As usual, I sometimes say things jokingly figuring that even the most wild-eyed liberal wouldn’t dare say such things.

The first line of the Liberal Pledge was “I pledge allegiance to the President of the Global State Of America.” Ha ha, right? Then, today I run across this video:

Incredible, isn’t it?  I find it intensely disgusting, to be quite frank with you.  Never in my life did I imagine that a bunch of wild-eyed Hollywood liberals would get together and make a video like this….

At the same time, I find it amusing how the left always wants to look down their noses at us,  The say that we’re the ones who are uninformed.  They call us “low information voters.”  Really?  I see here a prime example of a bunch of wild-eyed leftists showing the world just how little they really know.

You see, The President, as well as every single elected official in this great nation of ours, is elected into office not to be served by the people, but to serve the people.  This is a prime example of just how wrong the left is about this country, and how little they know, or even, just how little they care about this country and her founding principles.

Wasteful Government Spending

The first Bill that I cringed at was a piece of legislation passed for Hawaii and Guam. Rep. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), and Rep. Madeline Bordallo (D-Guam) requested $1,200,000 for two projects to deal with Brown Snake Tree Control. Since 1996, $14.6 million has been earmarked in both Hawaii and Guam for the purpose of Brown Snake Tree Control. Whats next? Are our Representatives going to earmark a Bill for Great White Ocean Control? Useless spending. Thats all this is. Are the Brown Snakes of Hawaii and Guam a threat issue? Why not use the $14.6 million that has been allotted to Hawaii and Guam over the past 13 years for something more efficient. Why not invest this money in a program for early education for the children of this nation. They are our future.

$50k to replace trees. In fiscal year 2009, Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-Mich) asked for $50k to replace trees. No, these trees were not in a federal park or even disaster area. These trees were in River Rouge, Michigan. United States Census shows that River Rouge, Michigan is a town of less than 10,000 people. With all federal government expenditures, the question is “Why should a taxpayer in California pay to replace trees in Michigan?” How would Representative Kilpatrick answer this question?

Military spending receives a large amount of attention. Usually, the attention is on spending for the Iraq war. This story is not about war spending but about spending on an access road. Representative Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) joined Senators Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) and Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii) in requesting $30 million. The $30 million will be spent on Phase Five of an access road at Pohakuloa Training Area. Phases One through Four have already cost $74.4 million. Now that is wasteful government spending.

Veterans benefits and military spending have received a large amount of attention. Our military veterans deserve the best benefits money can buy. This spending story has nothing to do with veterans benefits. It is about a request for money to build a dining hall. Representative Louise Slaughter joined then Senator Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) in requesting $9 million to build a dining hall at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.

Another example of wasteful government spending comes from Ames, Iowa. Swine farms give off a large amount of odor. I am sure most people would agree that pigs can be stinky. Would they label this a problem for the federal government? Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) would. He recently requested #1.791 million to research odor management for pigs. That gives new meaning to “pork barrel spending”.

Now I can call Bull when I see it. We seriously have to spend 1.8 million to find out why swine manure stinks? Thats ridiculous. Has anyone took the initiative to study the human feces to see if we excrete nutrients. If the time was taken to study this then they would more then likely determine that humans excrete nutrients in their feces as well. Also, as for odor control, we as humans, have invented the toilet. Why not spend this money on creating a sanitary way to not only dispose of the swine manure, but it would also act to control the odor. There is no reason to do a study on why manure has an odor. It always has and always will. Thats part of anatomy. Lets spend this money on something more important, like finding homes for all the children who are abandoned at birth and given up for adoption of just left out on the Hospitals doorstep.

As a final thought I would like to leave you with a segment from the 2009 Pig Book. It is under the Department of Defense. And I find this spending to be outlandishly ridiculous. $465,000,000 for the continued development of the F-136 engine as an alternative engine in the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program. The JSF is 55 billion dollars over its budgeted cost according to the Government Accountability Office. Congress has added funding for an additional engine in order to supposedly increase competition and flexibility for pilots, despite the fact that the winning engine had prevailed in a half dozen public and private competitions, and despite the fact that no other part of the plane would be competed once production commenced. CBS News reported on July 30,2007, that the Air Force and two independent panels concluded that the second engine is not necessary and not affordable, and that the professed savings from competition will never be achieved.

A total of 100 Senators and 435 Representatives have refused to be associated with this bill by remaining anonymous. Hint, hint, anyone? If the officials we have elected are hiding their voices and not wanting to be tagged with this, then why has the millions of dollars even been allotted for these mind blowing bills? $465 million for competition level engines? I urge you to pick up the phone, call your local Representative, and let them know how utterly disgusted you are with the way taxpayer’s dollars are being spent.

The Plan That Keeps On Planning

The President admitted he is also not pleased with the progress we’re seeing so far, demonstrating that his administration will be fast tracking the strategy detailed in the stimulus plan, eager to give another flicker of hope to Americans who are incensed, at the very least, with the shape of the economy. The Obama administration also claimed that they have so far only spent $44 billion, or 5 percent, of the $787 billion stimulus package, the largest economic stimulus in American history, and arguably one of the largest financial bills in American history.

Obama says that, “we’re in a spot to really speed up.” He reiterated his guarantee to generate or save 600,000 jobs by the conclusion of the summer, a claim that will never be verifiable. This is just a “repackaging” of old promises and a rejuvenation of old projects, but hopefully the renewed sense of urgency will be enough to make President Obama’s plans and projects effective.

1.6 billion Americans have lost their jobs since the economic stimulus plan was signed in February, making the White House estimations they have still saved 150,000 jobs rather bleak in comparison. The Obama administration has admitted for the first time that they were too overly optimistic in the forecasting they used to sell the stimulus package to Congress. Jared Bernstein, Vice President Biden’s financial adviser, commented, “At the time, our estimate seemed logical. At this time, looking back, it was obviously too positive. Experts consider the administration is still being idealistic and that any job formation will be the result of luck by itself and not at the great scale he predicts.

Opponents of the stimulus plan have argued ever since the President’s inaugural ceremony that the stimulus package cannot work out at all, in spite of of forecasting, due to ‘pork barrel’ projects that have been incorporated in the bill and the fact that the federal budget does not include the money it takes to fund the enterprise. Obama is now trying to restore the country’s belief in the measures he has taken. He commented, “We’ve done more than ever, faster than ever, more reliably than ever, to get the gears of the economy moving once more. I’m not happy. We’ve got more work to do.” Americans seemingly agree, and think he has not done an adequate amount. Obama’s disapproval rating concerning the economy rose from 30% to 42%, nearly overnight.

Obama: Your Mom Should Shut Up, Take A Pill, And Die.

Well, here we go.  Did you hear what Dear Leader said?  “Maybe you’re better off, uuuuuh, not having the surgery.  Maybe you’re better off taking the pain killer.” WTF?!  Where is the compassion?  Where is the empathy?

This now begs the following questions: Could his mother have been saved?  Could his grandmother have been saved?  Was it just cheaper, Mr. President, to give them a pill and let them die?

These is the kind of ideas that liberals across America and on liberal talk radio have been pushing since Dear Leader’s innauguration.  Their desire for government controlled health care like that which people in Canada and the United Kingdom suffer through gets on the air every day.  They mock us saying that we would rather have people die than provide socialistic healthcare, yet these words come out of The President’s mouth.  Interesting.

Here’s the facts:  The United States of America has the best health care in the world.  People from across the globe, even those with socialist healthcare,  come here when doctors everywhere else have given up.  We have the best cancer survival rates, the best technology and the best health care professionals.  Don’t believe me?  Read this.

We don’t need government funded health care.  I believe that if this thing passes it will adversely effect health care for the rest of us.  In fact, I know it will.  Here in Chicago there is the Cook County Bureau of Health Services.  It is, in essense, government run healthcare.  I recently dropped someone off to pick up a prescription at the public hospital.  IT TOOK THREE HOURS!  I know people who suffer through this and let me tell you the level of care is far inferior to what I enjoy in my own private health plan. I know someone very close to me who is in the VA system. They seem to have just given up on him.

So, to those on the left, don’t give me this nonsense that we desperately need socialist healthcare.  Don’t tell me that the health care system we have is broken.  Is it perfect? No, but you liberals make it sound like there are dead bodies stacked up on the street, or perhaps that is your goal.

Communicate Much?

Ok, so I was digging around Google News looking for some stories to blog about. As I was scrolling the page, I noted one headline that said “Obama Says US Economy Showing Return to Normalcy.” ”Ok,” I thought, “well, of course he’s going to try to tell us that everything he’s doing to destroy private industry is helping the economy.”  Then I see this gem: “Fed’s economic forecast worsens.”

So, I have to wonder: Which is it?  Clearly the Elites in Washington aren’t talking to each other.  Is the economy getting better or is it getting worse?

If you ask me, I tend to believe the fed more than I believe Dear Leader, and here’s why:  Every bit of President Obama’s plans depend on the economy getting worse.  You see, with the administration printing more and more money, coupled with their war on prosperity, millions upon millions MORE people will be unemployed.  With all of these people unemployed, more and more will be depending on the Government for food, healthcare (if the libs get their way, anyway), money, housing, transportation and everything else.   We all know what happens to people who depend on the Obama administration for handouts, right?  Just ask Rick Wagoner.

A totalitarian government never comes out and tells you what their plans truly are.  They never tell you that they intend to take over every aspect of your life.  Usually, they take small steps.  They take away freedoms little by little, so as not to cause an uprising.  They do these things under the guise of helping underpriviledged people.  They do these things under the guise of fairness.

President Obama and his minions have made little effort to take this slowly.  They have already taken over many industries by economic force.  The auto, banking, mortgage and credit industries are only the beginning.  Don’t think for a moment that they don’t have their sights set on oil, coal and other energy industries.  Don’t forget the left-wing extremists calling for single-payer healthcare.

Ladies and gentlemen, this might be our shot.  Between The White House, and the Fed, and Nancy Pelosi, they can’t get their story straight.  Hopefully their true intentions will be exposed, and the American people will wake up in time for 2010.  Our time for uprising may be here yet.

Obama Administration Targets Dissenters

Secretary of Homeland Secutity Janet Napolitano recently declassified a document that attempts to label those who do not agree with the Obama administration’s policies as “rightwing extremists.”

(U) Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

WHAT?!

Again, in the most common and disgusting display of liberalism, those who disagree with their world view are labeled as hateful racists.  There you go, ladies and gentlemen: Holding contrary views to the President, that is, minimal government as outlined in the Constitution, the sanctity of life from conception to natural death, or a desire to secure the borders of this country, will get you marginalized.  Don’t think for a moment that it will stop here.

I’m telling you now ‘I told you so.’ I will tell you again, I told you so.  Don’t think for a moment that people like you and me, those of us who call ourselves conservatives, will not be targeted by this administration.

A Dangerous Precedent: The Firing Of Rick Wagoner

President Obama personally fired GM CEO Rick Wagoner.  I couldn’t belive that this had happened.  Part of me wants to boast: “I told you so!”  Part of me wants to cry.

It seems to me and anyone else with any sense that President Obama’s charge toward socialism is at full throttle.

It doesn’t end there. It seems that the Obama administration not only wants the authority to seize control of companies that have taken Government assistance, but any corporation that they well please.

I have a question for you liberals out there:  Where in the Constitution does the President Of The United States get the authority to fire ANYONE?  Liberals are quick to point out that since GM took a Government loan, the Government should have the right to take such action.  I have another question: Does your car loan company get to tell you what brand of gasoline you can put in your car?  Does your mortgage company get to tell you what kind of food you can eat in your house?  If we’re going to allow this, then will President Obama personally tell these lazy, useless slugs who are career welfare recipients to put down the booze and get a damned job? 

If this reads as me being a bit angry you’re right.  I am livid.  If we allow this to go unchecked, you’d better believe that we’re on the highway straight for socialism.

As it stands, the SEIU has now been emboldened by this move, and are now calling for President Obama to fire Bank Of America CEO Ken Lewis.  In case you didn’t know, the SEIU has desperately wanted B of A to fire Lewis.  Where will it end?

It’s time to wake up, it’s time to take action.  We cannot let this pass silently.  This administration will attempt to take as many of your freedoms as you let them.
