Do Liberals Go Camping?

My fiancee, my future step daughter and I went camping last weekend.  Let me tell you, it was a fantastic experience.  My fiancee made the best campfire food I had ever had.

So, I sat by the campfire Friday night, pondering, well, everything.  Then the thought occured to me: Do liberals go camping? I know that these things seem quite unrelated, but follow my logic for a minute…

First off, there’s the campfire, and we all know how liberals feel about new-fangled things like fire and heat.  I mean, burning that wood and releasing all those carbon emissions into the air and bringing about Santa, the Easter Bunny and Global Warming.  We should keep this part under wraps because between Obama, Pelosi and all the other liberal crazies they might try to do Cap And Tax on campfires.  Let’s remember, too, that most people who go camping use disposable plates and flatware and such, not to mention the packaging for these things.  You know that we will be overrun with landfills if this keeps up!  Also, remember that most liberals are from cities, and camping involves things that you just can’t get in the city like real darkness, fresh air, staring at the stars, real quiet, interaction with nature…

You know, if they don’t go camping, I think I’ll just keep it that way!

Sotomayor Overturned… Again.

So, today the Supreme Court, you know, the judicial body that Judge Sonia Sotomayor has been nominated to serve on, saw fit to overturn her decision on the case involving white firefighters who were passed over for promotions.

As a Hispanic male, I say justice has been served.

You see, there is an assumption that is inherent when a body gives preference to a certain segment of the population because of race: Those getting preference just don’t stack up.

I personally refuse to believe that I am any better or worse than anyone else simply because my ancestors are from Mexico and yours are from Europe or Africa or South America or Mars.  One of the reasons I came to my senses and stopped being a liberal was the personal offense I felt knowing that they (the liberals) assume that I need easier tests or somehow should have an easier path made for me.  Why? I am not inferior to anyone regardless of skin color, yet these policies would sure seem to imply that.  If I’m going to be a police officer, fire fighter, university student or barber, damnit give me the same test, and hold me to the same standard.

Judge Sotomayor, being a latina woman, doesn’t seem to hold the same opinion.  Perhaps Judge Sotomayor needs to deal with her own inferiority complex.

Been Away…

As I am sure you have noticed, I have been away for most of the month.  I have been working on several other projects, but having gotten the ball rolling i can get back to giving this project the attention it deserves!

That said, I recognize that there are a lot of things that have happened, the most recent of which being the passing of Cap and Tax by the U.S. House.

Not to toot my own horn, but I predicted these things!

On April 8th, I posted an article about President Obama’s plan to take over the internet. Today, in the New York Times, it was reported that President Obama is appointing a Cybersecurity Coordinator. Told Ya so.

On May 18th, I posted an article about Obamanomics.  I raised the possibility that the administration had targeteted dealerships to be shut down in areas that were not likely to be Obama/Democrat strongholds.  On May 27th, WorldNetDaily exposed how this turned out to be true.  Told Ya So.

Ok, so maybe I WILL toot my own horn!

Dear Leader -VS- Dear Leader

So, North Korea’s Dear Leader, Kim Jong Il has decided that he’s gong to take on America’s Dear Leader, Barack Obama.

On Saturday, North Korea detonated a nuclear bomb underground.  This along with North Korea’s test firing rockets has me and others very concerned.

President Obama, along with the UN, have condemed these actions in the strongest way possible.  I’m sure that Kim Jong Il has soiled his pants over it.

As I see it, North Korea is like an unruly child.  I know, you libs out there won’t like what I have to say but every so often, an unruly child needs a good spanking.  I am not advocating child abuse.  I am not advocating leaving lasting wounds or breaking bones or anything extreme like that.  Every once in a while, though, a child needs to be put in his or her place. A scolding simply won’t do.  This is the situation we face now with North Korea.  The question is: Does Dear Leader Obama and the rest of the world have the balls to put Dear Leader Il and North Korea in their place?

“Happy” Memorial Day?

Every year around this time I hear the same greeting: Happy Memorial Day.  I have always found this to be a contradiction in terms.

You see, I don’t think that Memorial Day is a day to be celebrated, per se.  Now, now, don’t go getting mad at me, let me explain.

To me, Memorial Day is more of a day of reflection and gratitude.  It is a day to remember those who have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms that we enjoy, rather, take for granted every single day.

So yes, enjoy your day off, have a burger and some beer. Enjoy your time with friends and family.  But, take a reflective moment to remember those who gave their lives on the field of battle so that you could be free to do those things.
